On July 6, 2010, British Airways launched Flying Start project, which is the latest charity project that cooperates with Comic Relief. The project promises that it will raise 8 million pounds for British and global disadvantaged children by the end of 2012.
A plane printed with Flying Start was unveiled, which marks the official launching of this exciting money-raising project.
Bill Nighy and Nick Frost, who are two famous British actors, flew to Kenya days ago. They visited some projects which Comic Relief supports. They also visited some areas where disadvantaged children live.
Bill Nighy said, "Meeting with some most disadvantaged children in the world is a kind of experience that leaves you deep impression. Though these children are in adversity, they are still much optimistic and full of hopes. Seeing the changes that British Comic Relief has brought to them, we are very happy. With the support of Flying Start project, we can enrich the lives of more children."
Comic Relief is a British nationwide charity organization. It aims to construct a fair world that has no poverty. The organization was established in 1985. The most famous two main money-raising activities that were held every two year are Red Nose Day and Sport Relief. Thanks to the generous donations from British people, Comic Relief has raised 620 million pounds for poor people.

Willie Walsh, CEO of British Airways, said, "We cooperate with Comic Relief. We provide help and support for British and global disadvantaged children through raising money from the air, ground and the Internet. We have a glorious dedicatory tradition and we will raise money together with our passengers and employees."
Kevin Cahill, CEO of British Comic Relief, said, "We are very happy to be the long-term cooperative partner of British Airways. It makes us have chances to contact with the employees and passengers who are distributed around the world. Cooperation with British Airways will help us always keep close in touch with the global participant of this project. We will raise more money to cover more countries and to make more poor people benefit from it."
Last year, British Airways raised 5 million pounds for charity cause by the way of donation by passengers and other people.
We think that each child should own a happy and carefree childhood. Therefore every penny of the money collected by Flying Start project will be used to help poor children and improve their lives.
